After Samuel proposed to Amy outside the Eiffel Tower on an anniversary weekend in Paris, they booked their wedding with us in July 2015, with just over a year to go until their special day. Samuel and Amy’s wedding, held here in our Barn, was a beautiful occasion: our sister company Beautiful Venue Decor Ltd provided a stunning woodland venue styling for the ceremony and wedding reception, with lots of rustic touches and beautiful birdcages.
“The flowers had a rustic earthy feel, splashes of turquoise to match the bridesmaids dresses topped it off. The trellis and archway were beautiful.”
Amy wore a stunning floor length dress with a lace bodice with capped sleeves, dropped waist and a beautiful train. She was accompanied by maid of honour Clem and bridesmaids Rebecca and Lucy, who wore flowing, floor-length, strapless dresses in a gorgeous light shade of turquoise. Samuel’s best man Sam wore a grey suit with a turquoise tie, and the page boy had a miniature version to match. In a lovely touch, the groom’s father drove the bride with her mother and chief bridesmaid Clementine to the ceremony.
After their wedding ceremony, Samuel, Amy and their guests enjoyed Pimms reception drinks, served in charming vintage bottles with straws, whilst mingling and posing for photographs in the courtyard. As the wedding party explored the beautiful country gardens, the photographer arranged a beautiful confetti shot to celebrate the happy couple’s marriage.
At 3:30pm the wedding guests were seated in the Barn ready for their delicious, three course wedding breakfast. The father of the groom announced the new Mr and Mrs into the Barn to the applause of their upstanding guests; after cutting their beautiful ombre turquoise cake (with vanilla, chocolate and fruit layers, topped with a bride and Batman!), the newlyweds were seated and the wedding breakfast was served. As the final plates were whisked away, celebratory toast drinks were served: congratulatory toasts and speeches were made by the mother of the bride, the groom and his best man. After raising their glasses to the happy couple, the guests moved to the Garden Room to relax with cups of tea and coffee before their evening celebrations.
As the evening guests began to arrive, the wedding party moved back to the Barn: the DJ was ready to play a night full of requests and floorfillers, whilst the bar was poised to pour tasty beverages all night long. Samuel and Amy’s first dance to Nora Jones’ ‘Come away with me’, which their guests were invited to join, kick-started a night of fun and dancing; as waitresses served sausage and bacon sandwiches, chips and slices of cake, Samuel and Amy’s friends and family enjoyed the Barn, and the pleasant weather in the courtyard until midnight closing.
After their wedding, Samuel and Amy went on an amazing once in a lifetime cruise around the Caribbean, followed by a week in Orlando. Now that they’ve had time to reflect on their fantastic wedding day, Amy’s advice to future couples is to “plan in advance – and make items yourself to cut down on costs!” In answer to the question “what was the best thing about your wedding day?” Amy answered: “The ceremony – it was beautifully arranged and set an amazing tone for the day. It was magical walking down the aisle!”.
“When we visited Elsham Hall the staff were really friendly and the venue was exactly what we were looking for. All of our questions were answered and there was no pressure put on us to reserve a date. Elaine was incredible at helping us find exactly what we wanted and Bride Beautiful were really amazing at organising so many of the finer details.”
